Privacy Policy
Hotel Watch · Effective October 13, 2026
This policy explains how Hotel Watch, developed by Diga & Chella’s LLC, handles information when you use the app and contact us.
Camera use and local processing
When you enable Motion Recording, the app uses the camera to detect motion and records short video clips when motion is detected. Motion analysis, temporary recording buffers, saved video clips, and clip thumbnails are processed and stored on your iPhone. The current app records video without microphone audio.
Information we receive from the app
Hotel Watch does not upload camera video, recordings, thumbnails, or motion data to us or to third-party servers. The app has no account registration and does not use advertising, third-party analytics, tracking tools, or data brokers. App settings are saved locally on your device.
Storage and deletion
Saved recordings and thumbnails are kept in the app's private storage. The recordings folder is configured to be excluded from device and iCloud backups. Temporary capture files are used to create motion clips.
You can review and delete individual clips in the app, or use Delete All Recordings to remove every saved clip and its thumbnail. If enabled, automatic deletion removes older clips according to your chosen setting. Optional low-storage cleanup may delete the oldest clips before their scheduled deletion date only when free device storage is down to about two average clips. Removing the app removes its local app data.
Saving a copy to Photos
The app saves a recording to your Photos library only when you choose to do so. That copy is governed by your Photos settings, including any enabled iCloud Photos synchronization. Deleting a clip in Hotel Watch does not delete its Photos copy. Manage or delete exported copies in Photos.
Permissions and your choices
Camera access is used for motion monitoring and the camera preview. Photos permission is requested when you choose to save a recording to Photos. Enabling the alarm requests notification permission to schedule a local alarm alert. You can stop Motion Recording after device authentication and revoke permissions in iPhone Settings. Turning off monitoring requires authentication even when recordings-library protection is disabled. Denying camera access prevents camera monitoring.
Recording protection
Recordings-library protection is enabled by default and can use Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode as supported by your device. You can change it in Camera Setup. Authentication is handled by iOS; Hotel Watch does not receive your Face ID biometric data or device passcode. Saved clips and thumbnails use iOS file protection when the device is locked.
Support correspondence
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use that information to respond to your request and provide support. Correspondence is handled through Gmail and retained as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations. To request deletion of support correspondence, email us at the address below; we will honor requests subject to applicable legal requirements.
This website
This website has no advertising, analytics scripts, contact forms, or embedded app recordings. Its hosting provider may process technical information, such as an IP address and request details, to deliver and secure the website. This is separate from the app's on-device camera processing.
Respecting others' privacy
Use Motion Recording only where you are legally permitted to record, and follow applicable notice, consent, and property rules. Recording and privacy requirements vary by location and circumstance.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
